This article is about living with epilepsy, which can occur in any breed. There are many questions left unanswered as to why this happens.
It is awful to witness and we would sincerely hope that no owner, whatever the breed, would have to go through the trauma of same.
Sadly, we know that this will continue to happen and surely Breeders have a responsibility to be aware of this AND NEVER BREED FROM A DOG WHICH SUFFERS FROM SAME

This is the hardest thing that I have ever had to write and many tears have been shed in the writing, but write it I must, because out of all this pain and emptiness that Rog and I feel right now, there has to be some good that comes out of all this sadness and grief and if Mr Otto can save another Giant and Owners from going through this then there is some rhyme and reason to our loss.

Co-incidentally health issues within Pedigree Dogs and breeding is very topical at present as shown recently on Television.

We do not have the facts and figures to suggest that there is a problem within this Awesome Breed, but from our own experiences and at present largely anecdotal evidence, we fear that there are problems. We wish to highlight these conditions and pass it on to the Breed Clubs to research this further.

As regards the Television programme, it was fairly obvious from our perspective of showing and now breeding dogs that it gave a totally one sided view point and did nothing to praise the good work that the majority of Breeders do, who sincerely have the best interests of their own particular breed at heart.

It was not until dusting off the old laptop last weekend that I came across this article and thought, whilst having a whiff of inspiration, it’s about time we had something about our Tibetans.
It’s brought the whole weekend in 2007 flooding back and I hope those of you involved will appreciate why we were all so stressed !!!
We hope it makes you smile .... there has been no artistic licence !
This is my one and only article that has not been published so far (my excuse) .... I sent it in late to the TTA Magazine Editor. Perhaps they just don’t share our GIANT sense of humour or perhaps we are not PC ..... or TT .... enough !!!
